Students in this seminar class applied Career Architecture to presenting an assigned career to an audience of all students enrolled in this course this semester.  Students are shown here acting out skits for a biochemical engineer and an osteopathic physician.  Judges from Career Services chose the best performers.  A good time was had by all!

This year, sophomore Chemistry major, Amanda Hieaztman,  is working as a research assistant in Dr. Wendy Kimber’s lab at SU.  This position is funded through Dr. Kimber’s seed grant from NIH.  Amanda is analyzing the expression of ubiquitin-related genes in stem cell differentiation.  Amanda will be presenting her research at the Keystone Symposium on Stem [...]

This semester, junior Chemistry major, Brittany Miller, is conducting computational chemistry research with Dr. Jason Sonnenberg.  The goal of Dr. Sonnenberg’s research is to broaden the understanding of the actinide complexes found in nuclear waste.   At this time, they are investigating the structure and bonding in a complex of uranyl with three hydroxamate ligands.  Student researchers [...]

Chemistry Junior, JaQuelia Conley, is working on a research  project with Professor Wendy Kimber at SU.  They are analyzing the expression of the gene Usp 40 in embryonic stem cells.  JaQuelia is planning to build on this experience in her planned career as a forensic scientist.

Chemistry senior, Anthony Pellone, is enjoying his Capstone Experience at the Maryland State Police Forensics Division Crime Lab.  The lab, located about 5 miles south of campus, is a great place for Anthony to intern.  He enjoys his work in Central Receiving where he files cases and inputs evidence into the computer system.
