Evelyn Brown is now completing her Senior Internship at the Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. She works with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, physical and occupational therapists and nurses to provide the best care possible to the children. She feels it is important to make a difference in the world by helping others.

On Friday, freshmen students participated in the annual Lego building challenge. Freshmen were charged with incorporating one of more elements of Career Architecture into a Lego creation. Each Freshmen Seminar Team did a great job and a good time was had by all.

Students, faculty and administrators attended a news conference today as President Manning announced the appointment of Ed Hottle as head coach of our new NCAA Division III football program. There was plenty of cheering about this new exciting development at Stevenson! Expect to see a lot of SU football regalia on campus!

Justin Bobo and Rachel Gnanasekar pose in a lab at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. They are conducting their Capstone Research Project to improve ways to treat various diseases. Justin’s research project includes synthesizing new compounds for pain management and Rachel is synthesizing a polymer-drug complex for the treatment of breast cancer.

Hundreds of students, faculty and staff welcomed Jean-Michel Cousteau to campus. Mr. Cousteau delivered a strong message of environmental awareness and the necessity of conservation and care for the environment. Mr. Cousteau was on campus en route to his evening talk downtown as part of the Baltimore Speakers Series.

One hundred students, faculty and staff enjoyed the annual Chemistry Magic Show. Students performed magic tricks to impress the audience and then explained why they worked using chemical principles they had learned in classes. Pizza, laughs, singing and chemistry- a good time was had by all!
