Over the past months, many orders have been placed to get the Chemistry and Physical Sciences Department fully stocked for the upcoming fall semester. As the boxes roll in, they are marked into inventory and properly put away for easy location and access. It’s like Christmas in July with all the boxes!

Over the summer, work has been completed in KH 21, the general chemistry stock room, in hopes of making the room safer and easier for faculty and staff to use. Stephanie McClouds, the Science Laboratory Safety Manager at Stevenson works in the Chemistry research lab to classify and inventory all the stocked chemicals. This summer, senior Jennifer Schmitt is completing an Internship in the Analytical Department at Bimax, Inc., in Glen Rock, PA. Bimax is a supplier of specialty monomers, surfactants and other performance chemicals. Jen will be working with chromatographic instrumentation that she learned to use in her classes at SU. Once again this year, middle school students from around the area came to SU for our amazing multidisciplinary Science Camp. At Mustang Days, Orientation 2009, incoming freshmen and their families were able to learn lots of information in preparation for their start at Stevenson University in August.
