Megan Thomas, a student in Organic Chemistry, works to secure her distillation apparatus, which can be used for removing a solvent, purifying a liquid, or separating compounds of a liquid mixture. Megan will be using this apparatus to separate a 50:50 mixture of methanol and isobutyl alcohol, which will then be analyzed through gas chromatography next week. [...]
