Andrea Bell (left) and Yanita Boayue (right), students in Dr. George Lauterbach’s General Chemistry II course, are using the computer to calculate the bond angles and bond lengths of ammonia and other simple molecules using Molecular Modeling. They are also investigating the energy of each molecule and determining which method of calculation best fits the values found naturally. With exercises like these, they don’t mind spending time in lab on a Friday afternoon!
