Spring semester 2009 is officially underway and the Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences is happy to offer over 20 courses, with numerous sections of each! Of these courses, most include a laboratory component, which helps to prepare students for future education, research, and careers in a laboratory setting. The Department is also pleased to offer two Senior Internship Capstone courses, which provide an opportunity for students to gain professional workforce experience while integrating and applying academic content.

In addition, five professors are conducting independent, chemistry research with students this semester. We look forward to seeing the exciting research performed by these professors and their students later in the semester!
The department is also looking forward to the opportunity to showcase student research from the fall of 2008, which will take place on January 28, 2009 at the Research Poster Session to be held in the Pavilion on the Stevenson Campus. This poster session will include research projects completed by chemistry, biology, and math students and will be an excellent chance to see all the hard work the students have put into their research! Details on the session will follow!
As the semester progresses, check back for updated information and exciting news taking place within the Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences. We hope everyone has an enjoyable spring and wish our students good luck in all their courses and research!
